Project Overview
Tasked with creating a unique, easily recognizable logo for the Pane del Paradiso bakery, our goal was to capture its artisanal bread-making traditions and highlight the brand’s natural style. This bakery logo design needed to strengthen the bakery’s visual identity and boost recognition among customers who value quality, authenticity, and a natural brand style.

Research & Concept Development
In my first research phase, I dove into the brand’s history, values, and overall vibe. A quick look at competitors revealed that most bakery logos simply show buns or wheat ears without deeper meaning. To stand out, I decided to combine three core symbols — grain, a flour sack, and the hand-to-tool connection of a baker’s scoop — reflecting the heart of artisan production.
Sketching & Ideation
Next, I took a hands-on approach to sketching, working both on paper and on tablet to explore dozens of rough ideas. I experimented with wheat-ear shapes — from crisp, geometric “rays” to gentle, curved lines — and tested various flour sack and scoop silhouettes. This exploratory phase helped me strike the right balance between simplicity and expressiveness.
Vector Design & Color Palette
Once I chose the strongest sketches, I moved into Adobe Illustrator for vector development. I fine-tuned proportions, smoothed contours, and standardized line weights so the logo would stay sharp at any size — from a large storefront sign down to a tiny website favicon. At the same time, I crafted two color palettes: a warm golden-brown and a lighter, almost-beige shade to reinforce the brand’s natural style.

Typeface Selection
Choosing the perfect typeface was my next focus. I selected a subtly vintage serif font to give the logo a sense of heritage and solidity, nodding to centuries-old baking traditions. I set “Pane del Paradiso” in an arch beneath the icon, with small wheat-ray accents on each side for visual harmony.
Grid-Based Alignment
To ensure every element lined up flawlessly, I overlaid a geometric grid of circles and lines. This grid-based system guaranteed perfect symmetry and a clean composition—vital for a logo design where precision is key.

Legibility Testing & Final Polish
In the final polish stage, I ran a series of legibility tests: checking the logo on dark and light backgrounds, in single-color versions, and at very small scales. Even as a tiny icon, it remained instantly recognizable and crisp.
Mockups & Deliverables
Finally, I produced realistic mockups showcasing the logo on a storefront window, on packaging, and on branded stationery. I delivered vector files (SVG, PDF), high-resolution PNGs, and comprehensive usage guidelines. The result is a memorable, refined mark that perfectly embodies the artisan spirit of Pane del Paradiso.
